First Prize – Invited Architectural Competition
The Ellinikon, Athens, Greece | 2021
The proposal consists of nine apartment buildings along the coastal front of The Ellinikon, reinterpreting Mediterranean living through a close relationship between architecture, nature and the sea.
The residential complex is organized around a sequence of planted courtyards, generous terraces, rooftop gardens and open living spaces that extend seamlessly into the landscape. Existing pine trees are carefully integrated into the design, strengthening the connection between the built environment and its natural setting while preserving the site’s identity.
Large openings, shaded outdoor spaces and fluid transitions between interior and exterior create bright, naturally ventilated homes that respond to the Mediterranean climate. Privacy, views and everyday living are carefully balanced through the arrangement of buildings, vegetation and outdoor spaces.
The proposal presents a contemporary approach to coastal residential design, emphasizing planting, natural light and sea views.
