Participation of the Hellenic Pavilion in the 19th International Architecture Exhibition – Venice Biennale 2025, in response to the theme:
“Intelligens. Natural. Artificial. Collective.«
Design & Curation: Varvara Christopoulou
Photorealistic Renderings: Konstantinos Xanthopoulos
Inwards to Infinity in Greece explores the connection between introspection and infinity through the lens of Greek architecture and landscape. In an era where artificial intelligence has become an integral part of daily life, the proposal highlights the natural intelligence of the human being — an innate capacity activated through interiority and the experience of light, expanding human perception toward the infinity of space and thought.
Design Concept
The design revolves around two complementary semicircles, symbolizing the spatial concepts of “Inwards” and “Infinity.”
Inwards to Infinity
At the center of the pavilion stands a white hemispherical dome (radius: 5.30 m), inviting visitors into a space of introspection and calm. Around the dome, in recessed wall niches, contemporary architectural works inspired by Greek light and inner reflection are displayed. Models are presented on circular metal stands, while a large flat mirror completes the form of the dome, creating a unified space of contemplation. The experience is enhanced by a specially designed sound installation that deepens sensory immersion.
Infinity
The second semicircle, painted black and surrounding the central dome, represents infinity. Visitors have the opportunity to experience the natural and urban horizon of Greece through photographs, videos, digital projections, and immersive VR experiences. These installations expand the viewer’s gaze — from the introspective space of the dome to the boundless dimension of the Greek horizon — placing them in dialogue with the infinite.
Relation to the Biennale Theme

Artificial: Artificial elements — such as mirrors and reflections — are combined with digital technologies to evoke a sense of the infinite.
Collective: The audience participates in a collective experience that explores interiority and vastness.
Technical Overview
Dome: Prefabricated construction with a white surface and an elevated platform made of glossy white vinyl.
Wall Structure: Two curved, external, black walls that organize the exhibition route.
Flooring: Central area in white; perimeter area in glossy black vinyl.
Lighting: Concealed LED lighting that highlights architectural forms.
Sound Installation: Specially designed soundscape within the dome.
Inwards to Infinity in Greece is a proposal that unites inner searching with external vastness. It presents Greek architecture as a medium for exploring the human spirit and its relationship with the infinite, inviting the visitor into a deep personal dialogue through space, image, and sound.
